Todah America: A Gift for America's 250th

In the Bicentennial in 1976, the U.S. received some 176 gifts and tributes from governments and civic organizations in 40. Britain gave 12 gifts and tributes and Israel gave 4. Inspired by this legacy, Reut USA is orchestrating a gift that is coming out of Israel and will be distributed by Jewish institutions to Americans across America, particularly to wounded veterans and people with disabilities. Todah America will be an authentic, significant and distinctly Jewish gift to America, which takes place on local, state and federal levels.

TOM’s 250th Gift

The gift will be an online “portfolio” of 50-250 solutions for the needs of wounded veterans and disabled Americans, which were created in Israel to help wounded IDF soldiers. Most such gifts were funded with American philanthropic funding. All solutions will be open source and available in the “public domain” which means that they can be used by any American across the continental USA. Special Focus on Sports

The 250th Gift will focus on creating and distributing solutions for participation in sports, physical activity, music and gaming in order to make them accessible and affordable for people of all abilities. In this context, TOM partnered with World Maccabi Games ahead of the Maccabiah Games in July 2026, when the 250th Gift will be announced

Giving the 250th Gift

Every local Jewish community will be able to give the 250th Gift to local facilities of the VA, hospitals or institutions for people with special needs. Namely the solutions for wounded veterans and disabled Americans, which were developed in Israel (see here), will be distributed to their users across the United States by local Jewish and Israeli communities.

Our goal is to have “gifting events” of the 250th Gift in 50 states and 75 cities. Toward this goal, TOM will prepare the 250th Playbook and other materials to support local institutions in giving the 250th Gift within their communities. The 250th Playbook will outline various formats for different communities, age groups and institutions such as schools, camps, JCCs, Hillels and federations and streamline visual branding and messaging to create a unified framework story with many local manifestations.

Partnerships Across America

To effectuate Todah America, Reut USA plans to collaborate, cooperate and partner with Leading Jewish institutions, specialized organizations, and a advisory committees from around the U.S.

Iconic Events

Iconic events will happen on state, city and federal levels. For example, we are planning celebratory giving of the 250th Gift to governors of states, an event in Congress and exhibitions in museums, public squares and other iconic locations.
